The Big Weigh-in... Week 8: -2.2 lbs.

Well I do declare! I figured that my 10% goal would hit next week. Instead, I squeaked in by 0.2 lbs. and hit my 10% on my 2 month anniversary of being on the plan. In a twist of fate that can only be described as divine intervention, my DW also hit her 10% this week. The world tends to rotate a little more smoothly when we are on the same page of the plan.

My daughter also turned 3 years old on Saturday as well, so I celebrated both events with some Michelob Ultras and an expertly grilled cheeseburger by Biggie Sized.

For people on the plan with major weight loss to be had, I think one of the most significant milestones is rolling back the big digit... crossing over into ONEderland or TWOberville, etc. Both BS and I are approaching those milestones and for me, it will be the biggest milestone of my journey until the final goal. I feel like all my progress so far has just been erasing the sins of the past 5 years. Once I go sub-200, I will really be starting my weight loss, going into territory reaching back 15 years.

I'm just getting to the point now that all the clothes I own are becoming properly sized for my frame as is. That's very exciting, since I like some of these clothes and now I can wear them again. It is also somewhat sad because it's proof that I abused myself into the land of obesity. When I drop those last 8.6 lbs., I can really start looking at new clothes in smaller sizes, not just fitting into the bigger sizes I already own. I will also start feeling as I good as I did 15 years ago.

Ultimately, when I hit my stated WW goal, I'll actually be at the top of the "normal" (quite a biased word) range for my height/age. If things continue to progress smoothly, my real goal should be about 10 lbs. less than my official goal. We'll see. For now, I'm stoked to be at 10% and very optimistic that my goals are achievable.
