It's A Long Way Down
Boy, falling off the wagon with weight loss is really tough. It's much different from, say alcoholism. If you are sober for 10 years, then take a drink, or say drink for a year, as soon as you stop you are sober again. Not that it's easy, but you can start from scratch.
Falling off the weight loss wagon is different. Say you keep up with the plan for a year and lose a bunch of weight. Then you slack and start eating what you want. Three months later, you're back to square one. If you restart your healthy eating habits, you're not magically thin. You've got to climb back up all those stairs to get to the top.
I'm vowing not to give up the fight, not to fall down all those stairs. I know everyone vows that. And the world is filled with starters and stoppers and restarters and restoppers. I'm just saying that if I'm going to make this change, I'm making it for good. I can't imagine something as awful as working to lose 50 pounds in a year only to put it all back in 3 months. All the new clothes, the self-esteem, the health benefits. Poof! Back to the old you.

But is the important thing the process- new better habits- or the product- Skinny McFattypants? You can do this- hang in there.
Good point... the better habits should lead to the better product. You must be very smart to be reading this forum!
